Contouring Vs Strobing Vs Baking

January 27, 2016

Like most of you, I've spent the last few years obsessing over contouring... but as we know there are always new trends to stay up to date with. So last year was strobing, this year is "baking". this technique uses the temperature from your face to set your make up, leaving a crease free and airbrushed look. ** Especially great for under the eyes.  I'll do a tutorial post soon on this one, stay tuned.

Heres some easy definitions to identify these techniques:

Strobing in a nutshell ladies, is all highlight and no contouring.

Contouring is the one with all the lines! Shadows and Highlights to add and/or change a face shape.

Baking is the latest of these trends. Setting concealer with a translucent, leaving to 'bake' and your left with a beautiful creaseless finish. * Tutorial coming for this*

I will post some tutorials on these different techniques for you to try and see which you feel suits you best. Because who has time to fully contour every single day? My daily routine is strobing as its quite natural. But experiment :D Below are a list of my favourite products, with click throughs to places you can buy them.
